Its all about Lilliana

I've been here a week now and haven't posted on my blog.  Our days are just filled with Lilliana. . .that's what I came for! We've managed a few trips out to lunch or to the store but otherwise we're content to stay home and dote on her.  Tammy is busy every day doing "mommie stuff" but finds time each day to "work" a bit also.

Will came late last night and has gotten to be great friends with Lia and Snoopy.

That is the biggest belly laugh, ever.  We're laughing at HER laughing!!

Our days with Lilliana

Never too young for books!  Lia cuddled up with Grandma to read a book.  She was surprisingly content. . .it was a short book.
Us three girls went to lunch at "Waterside" on the river overlooking Manhattan.

She's all ready for a ride in the stroller!  Let's get going, Mom--what are we waiting for!

We strollered her over to HanBat, a Korean restaurant a few blocks away.  I had Bibim Kook Soo, cold noodles with spicy beef and vegetables. Lia waited patiently and entertained the other patrons while we enjoyed our lunch--until she got tired of it and got a little grumpy--time to go!!

Likes her thumb

Got her all to myself this morning.

I flew out to New Jersey to spend a week with Tammy and Lilliana and am having a ball!  So fun to wake up in the morning to her happy sounds.  She is such a sweetie.

Larry and Jean

Larry and Jean stopped in for a couple of days on their way home to Iowa from south Texas--well, a circuitous route for sure, but its still winter in Iowa so a few more days in warm sunshine is a good thing.  However, it was unseasonably cold this week which meant we all needed jackets here too.  Met Wayne and Judy at the Blue Willow for breakfast this morning, always a good time.

Mexican Gold Poppies in Catalina State Park

The spring wildflower show has begun and the poppies are blooming in Catalina.  Will and I took a hike this afternoon to enjoy this wonderful Arizona sun and see the beginning bloom along the Sutherlund Trail.  Lupine are up but not showing yet, and other colors just beginning.  It is very early this year.

New York, New York

Am just posting some pictures from our day in New York that I couldn't figure out how to upload last week.

World Trade Memorial park and fountain with (not yet open) museum.

Time Square.  See the famous "naked cowboy" in bottom right.  He had to be cold as it was not a particularily warm day in Manhattan but he was "cool."
We got rush tickets to see Memphis and was really enjoyable.  Love being tourists in New York, you walk your legs off but so much to take in.

Grandbaby family pics

Just some grandbaby pictures from our week in New Jersey.
Two sets of pretty proud grand parents!!

Not to mention a proud pappa!

The family

Her very first taste of cereal.  Quite the face!  It went down, she figured out what she was suppose to do with it but wasn't exactly her favorite experience.

into the City

Will and I spent a day in Manhattan. We parked our rental car in Tammy\'s parents driveway in Palisades Park and walked a block to catch a bus that took us to the Port Authority in Midtown. Pretty slick--and saved driving in the city, or parking for that matter.

First thing was to make our way to World Trade Memorial Park that just opened last fall. Very well done but lots still coming as a museum and at least two office towers being built near the site.

Then we split up as I wanted to spend time at MOMA (museum of modern art) to see a Diego Rivera exhibition. Will roamed around Midtown and then we met up at Times Square where we stood in line for rush tickets for the evening.

Doug and Tammy met us for dinner and the 4 of us went to see "Memphis." We all loved it. Music and show were amazing.

Only thing that upset the day was a bout of food poisoning that both Will and I picked up at McDonalds in Time Square. Made for a miserable night. That was not so fun.

I\'ll post pics when we get home as I can\'t figure out how to do it from my iPad!

Lia

Such a fun day getting reacquainted with Lilliana. She is such a sweetie. . .not that we are biased!! A very happy baby. Grandpa Will put together a new baby activity chair and she figured out what that was all about in a flash!
