More of Arizona fun

Jay suited up and rented skis and did Mt Lemon. Rest of us just enjoyed the mountain and lunch in Summerhaven. Southernmost ski run in the US!  Then Jay went with us to the Tucson Rodeo finals on Sunday afternoon. We look forward every year. Don't get how they can pick themselves up and walk away after that!!
Our house is really quiet now that everyone gone! Love these guys to death.

Siblings in town!

Helene and Les enjoying sunset at iconic Gates Pass.
It's Rodeo week in Tucson. Took in the Rodeo Parade on Thursday. All non motorized parade. Never saw so many horses in my life!
Something we have never done as long as we have lived here. . .rode the Tucson streetcar from Mercado district to University, to downtown to the end and then back again. Big time adventure.

to Phoenix and back!

A quick drive to Phoenix this morning. Doug is in Phoenix for a few days for company meetings and meet up with clients. He had this morning free so we took the chance to have breakfast and catch up! Then we all took a couple hour long stroll along the Salida Trail enjoying the Arizona sun. Then Doug went on to his 1pm meeting and we drove back home to Tucson. Worth the time and effort to sit next to him and see for myself that he is doing ok!

Took the "back way" home through Florence and spied blooming poppies!  The spring desert bloom has begun!! Great sight!!

Aeri is on stage again!

Am posting " screen shots " of Aeri's Instagram website. I don't know how to save stuff from Instagram, (Instagram is confusing to me but my kids use it all the time!!)
Anyway Aeri is doing a month's run in an off Broadway play in New York. Opening night was last night. The star--you might remember played the "early" Prince Phillip for the series, The Crown--Tobias Menzies!
Her bio in program. . .

Like all child actors she shares the roll with another girl--every other performance. We aren't going to get to see this one--so wish I could be there!!

extra long hike!

I had such a a nice Valentine's Day! Even ended the day with dinner out at cozy little neighborhood restaurant for a Valentine Special steak and shrimp for two.
In the afternoon we decided a nice walk around a pond in a nature reserve in Marana would be nice. Lots of ducks on the pond, warm sunny day. Great for a hike. So, here's my story. So we start out, a breeze is blowing and Will takes his hearing device off because it is annoying with wind blowing across it. I offer to slip it in pocket of my shirt. We get so far and it's getting warm so I take my shirt off, we continue on--almost all the way around and I realize that his hearing device IS NOT IN MY POCKET!  It obviously dropped out when I shed my shirt. We turn around and retrace our steps--all the way back around--can't find it laying anywhere. That's thousands of dollars. . .we turn around and make the loop again!  No luck!! Pretty anxious by this time--turn back one more time back to where I am pretty sure I shed my shirt. No luck--back again! Return to spot where we discovered it missing. . .and about 10 feet from that point. . .
There it was! So obviously I lost it just as we discovered it missing!  Our one mile walk turned into 3 miles--but we found it.
Now honestly, it was hard to see--can you see it in the dirt? It's two pieces connected by a thin wire --we walked past it 4 times before Will actually spied it!! Whew!

Show/Sale

This is Show I look forward to every February. Tohono Chul public garden hosts us as "Southern Arizona Clay Artists" by allowing free admission to the park in exchange for percentage of sales --and that alone brings people in. This year rain was threatening --and in fact happened big time on second day but since we were under cover in the Pavilion, it just didn't matter. People came rain or shine and it was all good! 30 fellow clay artists --and an amazing variety of artistic expressions!

Rain in Tucson

Raining in Tucson! Welcome sound of rain on the roof. Desert is soaking up the much needed moisture! And the air is so crisp and clear after rain passes thru.
