An amazing week with Dot! We have been friends since grade school back in our home town in Iowa! She traveled all the way from Washington State to spend time with us in Arizona. We have been busy catching up, reminiscing, checking out local cuisine, laughing, walking. It's been a treasured time together. Dorothy, you are the Best! Love 'ya!

the Brightness of Light
Went down to the "Loft" to see the new documentary about Georgia O'Keefe called, The Brightness of Light. It was excellent, very interesting and well done. Not a lot I didn't know but told so well and a great tribute to her and her work. I have long been a fan, enjoyed visiting her New Mexico residences and stayed at Ghost Ranch and enjoyed the landscapes she famously painted.

Birthday Boy
Will celebrated his birthday today! Just a quiet day at home. He deeply appreciated the cards, emails, phone calls from family and friends to mark his 80-first! Went out to a new Bar-B-Q place for his birthday dinner then home for birthday cake! Chocolate of course--I think he liked it, he had 3 pieces!! Happy Birthday Sweetheart!!

Tucson in bloom
We are experiencing extraordinary hot temperatures in Tucson that we don't expect until May . . .but here it is the first day of spring in March!! Causing things to pop early.
The Palo Verde trees just popped over the weekend. A bright, neon yellow that lights up the landscape!
And George is back. Hangs out on our patio looking for bugs. And he often looks in our patio door at us--actually I think he sees his reflection and thinks he has a friend
Another night out with Willis and Ginny. This time for India food at Sher-e-Punjab on Grant Road. I'd surely go back, loved it all. Even the Spinach sauce with fresh cheese cubes. Interesting flavor in spite of unappealing presentation.
Our latest Collaboration
I did the clay tiles and Will did the stained glass mosaic, grouting and framing. It turned out great!!

Overnight on Mt Lemmon
We always enjoyed a day trip up Mt Lemmon but we've never spent extended time to really see what's all there to enjoy. We decided now was the time. Two nights at the fairly new hotel/cabins gave us plenty of opportunities to enjoy it all.
We hiked, birded, checked out back roads with jeep, ate a whole lot, got a whole new look at Summerhaven. Good time.

Empty Bowls
Great event, great fundraiser for Interfaith Community Services, lots of people. We collected 1800 hand made pottery bowls from local potters across Tucson and beyond! They each went to people who came to support ICS with cash donations. Great dedication, great cause, great outcome, really fun day
