We expected it to still be warm in Tucson when we returned after our summer out but we certainly didn't expect this!! We had a little respite at first but now this heat has settled back in and it's kinda brutal! Tucson recorded 108 F but my patio read only 107 at its worst!! You gotta know this is unusual even for Tucson--we are breaking all kinds of heat records for this time of year. But I guess I will take the heat rather than hurricane that is devastating the Southeast right now.
In the middle of this heat my poor cactus is trying to bloom. Actually I have never seen this one bloom before as it usually fires up in mid summer while we are gone. So I don't know if it is blooming twice or is late or what!. But poor thing is not going to last long when sun gets on it today! It's really a huge blossom--larger than my spread hand!
