Steph had the plan to explore Hong Kong today. First destination was Tai Po Market. One transfer and a few more stops on the train and we were there.
Large, busy wet market open every day. . .Upstairs from the market floors was big Cantonese restaurant for lunch.
Our favorite thing--walking the streets and taking in the sights and sounds
Hong Kong is built on side of a mountain so they built an ingenious escalator to take people up to "midlevels" to more shops, restaurants, businesses. We find it very convenient!
Visited a historic/renovated building that once was British prison and central police station. Now art space, community exhibition space, museum, and restaurant where we took in a video exhibit by American artist. And then this Cat was so striking--not to be ignored.
Later we made our way to harbor and took the "Star Ferry" across to Kowloon for a particularly nice restaurant for dinner. First time for us to have Suckling Pig--this restaurants signature menu item.
