We came home to find several quail families visiting our backyard bird block for some tasty meals and a refreshing drink of water at our fountain. Must be a good year for baby quail as I have identified at least three distinct families. The chicks are almost teenagers in this family and all four babies look well fed. Mom and Dad always on the lookout so we sit pretty still on the patio when they come close as they are so fun to watch. Yesterday there was a family of new-born chicks and they just dart around so fast they are hard to count.
Towhee's, Paraloxia, Doves and Cactus Wrens are also enjoying the DeBoer Gourmet Desert Restaurant.
