We packed a picnic lunch this morning and took a day trip up into the San Juan Mountains. Our route took us on the "Million Dollar Hiway" between Silverton and the mountain town of Ouray. Couple of theories how the road got its name, least of which are the million dollar views. Spent a while in the impressive town of Ouray, visited the historic hotel and checked a few shops before we reversed our route and headed back to Durango.
